Yes, that’s exactly who we built this for. Most of our students come from unrelated backgrounds with no degree and no coding experience. We’ve graduated 100+ career changers into software roles. If they can do it, so can you.
Yes. We have regular sponsorship and scholarship opportunities, plus payment plans and employer sponsorship. Reach out and we’ll walk you through what you’re eligible for.
No. Most students start with zero coding experience and no tech degree. Our application process tests problem-solving and work ethic, not prior knowledge.
Yes, we run a hybrid model. You can study remotely and join on campus when you can, though we’d encourage in-person time where possible since peer learning is at the core of how Holberton works. Either way, you’ll be collaborating with your cohort daily, not learning alone.
Yes. Employers increasingly hire on skills, not credentials. Major companies including Google, IBM and Telstra have dropped degree requirements for many tech roles. Our graduates prove it, landing jobs at Defence, MYOB and REA Group with no computer science degree behind them. What matters is what you can build.
No. There’s no age limit on learning to code. Our students range from early 20s to 50s, and employers care about capability, not your birth year. If anything, your work and life experience is an asset in a team.
The full 9-month program is $19,000, with payment plans available. More training hours and career support than any tech program in Australia, at a fraction of the cost of a degree. We also have regular sponsorship and scholarship opportunities, so reach out to find out more.
If you’re capable but going nowhere in your current field, retraining into tech is one of the few career changes with a clear pathway and strong salaries at the end. Talk to our admissions team, and we’ll tell you honestly whether the program fits your situation.
Our program takes 9 months of full-time study. From there, most graduates land their first role within a few months of finishing. So realistically, you can go from zero coding experience to working in tech in under a year.
Yes. AI is changing the job, not killing it. Employers want developers who build with AI tools, which is how we train. Software remains one of the highest paying careers in Australia without a degree.
Entry-level developers typically earn $70,000 to $90,000, with mid-level engineers on $110,000 to $145,000 and seniors well past $150,000. Software remains one of the highest paying careers in Australia that doesn’t require a degree, and salaries climb fast in the first few years.
Yes. AI is embedded across the program, plus we run a dedicated AI for Developers course for working engineers upskilling in AI and agentic development.
Yes. HolbertonHER is our all-women cohort, with strong outcomes for women changing careers into tech, including mums returning to work.
Most bootcamps run 12 to 24 weeks and teach you one framework. Holberton is 9 months, project-based and covers fundamentals through to full-stack and AI, so you graduate as an engineer. No lectures, you learn by building with your cohort, the same way you’ll work on the job.
Yes. We deliver digital traineeship and workforce upskilling programs for Australian government agencies, including the APS, turning career changers into job-ready developers inside their teams.
